How You Doin’, Chris?
Folks keep asking me how I’m doing, which is very kind. I’m not always sure what to say. Sara sometimes seems peeved by my optimism, but I truly believe we’re going to get through this okay. Sure, it’s gonna suck. Lots of it already has.
Yes, I know it will be hard to watch Sara recover from surgery, probably lose her hair to chemo and all that. But we have been so abundantly blessed our whole lives through! And the blessings ain’t over yet.

Chris, I started off just saying “OK” then I then I got a little more real by saying “varying degrees of OK.” I kept it simple in most cases. Most people seemed satisfied with the OKs. I only shared anything beyond the OKs with family and closest friends. There were and are still some things too hard to share with anyone but God. This blog is good and will take a lot of pressure off you. We used CaringBridge and found it quite helpful but you have many more features. I will be praying for you. Hal

Hi Chris…well we gathered and pretended we were not men in our forties once again at the Scott Rafferty Tournament. Swiss Chard, myself, Melo and Jim Russo in particular had a ton of fun. I hope that you and sara are hanging in there and that the treatments for Sara continue to be successful.
I can’t wait to see you at the outing next year and toast to everyone’s good health. By the way, a posted a few pictures on the Yahoo fraternity alumni site.
Peace from Rochester,
Shabby
