Yucky chemo done & Happy Anniversary
It’s really cool to feel like I’m starting to make progress through my treatments. The 4th and final of the hard chemo is done and “chemo lite” starts in the beginning of June. That means I’m about half-way through chemotherapy! Last week was a bit easier than I had thought but lasted longer than expected. It was a huge blessing to go to my folks house for tons of rest and quiet. I also was able to spend some good time with my parents. And now it’s good to be back in the saddle at home with Chris and the kids.
Chris and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary this week — hooray! While Chris’ folks were here, we went to an incredible French inn near Middleburg, VA from Monday-Tuesday. Not only did we feel like we were in France, but the 4-star restaurant in the inn was out-of-this-world wonderful. We had fun eating, shopping in Middleburg, and enjoying the luxury of being with each other without children. What a blessing!
Much love and gratitude for your prayers and checking in with us.

Did you by chance stay at the Inn at Little Washington? Daniel worked on that project years ago when he was with Allan Greenberg, Architects. Happy anniversary to you and Chris! We just celebrated 28. I am being continually reminded that through the trials of life, I feel completely poured out. But that is where I acknowledge that I have no power and am moving forward in the strength of the Lord. God give you strength and healing.
Love, Leonor

Dear, dear Sara! I haven’t been on for a while, but have certainly been keeping up with your treatment protocol, esp. since it has so far run so closely with Ginger’s. And have been counting the days til the end of treatments! Ginger’s last one also was a longer reocovery, but, after some extra surgeries (gallbladder and ovaries, etc.) she is finally recovering and feeling much better.
I think the Lord has so much to teach us, not only when we come face to face with our mortality (and, incidentally, our IMmortality!!! thanks be to God), but also learning to rest in His grace and watch for it, compassion for others, and experiencing the Lord’s very present help in times of trouble when He actually suffers with us in our suffering as we lean back into His arms as you said- that position of intimacy for which we were designed.
I was so happy to hear that you have also gotten to spend that precious time with your dear parents- what a joy and privilege for them. Please give them my love and keep lots for yourself. Love and blessings, Martha
